Layout and Design

The layout of the wind turbines has been defined taken into consideration both energy resource as well as other technical, environmental and social factors. The project includes approximately 18 km of access roads and 18 km of  internal roads, with underground 33 kV cable network, and an 18.7 km overhead transmission line.

Project Alternatives

Various alternatives for turbine locations, road alignments, OHL and electrical connections were assessed to minimize environmental and social impacts while ensuring technical and financial feasibility for the project. For example, the OHL route was designed to align as much as possible and where feasible with the existing OHL corridors.

Following stakeholder feedback, the design of the Bijela Wind Farm transmission line has been adjusted. The current layout includes a rerouting in the Duži and Brezna area. Furthermore, considering technical constraints, the final section of approximately 580 m leading to the interconnection point has been designed as an underground cable.

The below  presents the project layout and design currently under consideration. This webpage will be updated regularly to share the project alternatives as well as any significant changes on the project layout and design.
